Lopez de Carrizosa

The family Lopez de Carrizosa is one of the most important families in Jerez with the title of Conde de Peraleja. It was the second noble family to settle in Jerez when the ancestors arrived with the Spanish king to fight the Moors in what became known as The Battle of Jerez. In his chronicle, Alfonso X described it as follows: «The thing in the world that most broke the Moors, why they had to lose Andalusia and the Christians gain it from them, was this battle of Jerez. That is how the Moors were shattered». Respected for their agriculture, cattle, horses and wine production, the Lopez de Carrizosa family is one of the owners of Lustau, the highest premiered sherry winery in the world.

Jerez de la Frontera

The different eras of Spanish history are clearly visible here in a Jerez de la Frontera with rich architecture, gastronomic traditions and beauty. There are many beautiful palacios and churches to see and the old city centre has a medieval planning with narrow streets full of charm and atmosphere. Compared to many other Andalusian cities, Jerez still has the ambience of a real Spanish town, without all the tourists. Jerez de la Frontera is famous for its countryside, the corn chamber of Spain. At Las Mesas you can see, taste, experience and live in these surroundings.
